WE WON...WE WON...WE WON!!

YES!!  We finally won our game today!!  And it feels great!  I have a permanent smile on my face right now!!  I am so proud of the team and everything we did today.  I saw a fighting team that played like they wanted to win.  We controlled the ball great and stepped it up when it counted!!

Best game of the year...so far ;)

SCORE: 67-81  (14pt victory...hell yeah!)
IMPRESSIVE TEAM STAT: 20 steals for the Comets, which resulted in 28 TO by Eskiltuna!!  Also we shot 92% from the FT line (which I have been stressing so much at practice).
INDIVIDUALLY: 19 pts, 11 rebounds, 5 steals and 7\7 from the FT line....player of the game!  BTW...pretty neat price (NOT!) I got a reflector vest and a t-shirt with a tractor on it (I gave it to Courtney)!

The entire team today really stepped it up!  Julia had 13 pts and went 8\8 from the FT line!  Anna Ö and Shannon (ROOMIES!!!) had 12 and 13 pts!!  Shannon also had 4 steals and went 5\5 from the line :)  Ida made some really IMPORTANT shots when we really needed them, including a sweet 3!!  Madde stepped up her defense at the end of the game and got some great steals!!  Frida battled and rebounded hard.  And Anna W came off the bench to give us a huge energy boost!  Making shots left and right!!  Carro also played consistent and executed the plays!  We controlled the ball most of the game!  We didn't panic and we kept our composure!  It was sweet!

OH and everybody is so happy!  Winning feels so GREAT!!  We only won 1 game...but hey it's a start and i'll take it.  We know how great it feels, so hopefully we keep it up!!  Our next game is Saturday vs. Telge...a really good team!  Hopefully we play hard and good things result!!

I'm going to go eat some chocolate to reward myself, peanut butter m&ms from my dad.  Which my roommates and myself said we wouldn't open until we won our first game!  Well the time has come and Im gonna go eat some!!  SWEET!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Christmas Decorating!!

Today we decorated our house with all kinds of Christmas decorations!!  It's always been a tradition that the day after Thanksgiving means time to Christmas decorate!!  Getting in the spirit!!  I had a box full of stuff from last year that I had bought.  It looks real festive now...It's being to look a lot like Christmas!!  I LOVE IT!!

Yesterday it took us a solid hour to clean-up everything from our Thanksgiving dinner.  My back started hurting from scrubbing all the pots and pans.  Courtney came to my swedish class yesterday.  She learned some new words and will probably go home and share them with everybody.  Too bad nobody will know what they mean, but it's fun.  We have been eating left-overs the last couple of days.  Today I woke up and ate an entire plate of Thanksgiving food.  I felt so full for the entire day.

Black Friday today!  Well not really here, but in honor of the day... WE WENT SHOPPING!!  It was nice because we were able to show Courtney downtown Umeå.  There was also a Xmas market set-up in town that we checked out.  I only bought a sweater and some earrings.  Shannon bought a new outfit and Courtney also purchased a new outfit and sunglasses (??).  It wouldn't feel right if we didn't shop today since it's the number one shopping day in America.

Tonight we are watching some Idol and then probably going to bed pretty early.  We have practice at 9.00 in the morning.  Then later we will go watch Virtus (the men's basketball team here) and then maybe something fun since it will be Courtney's last night in Umeå :(  How sad!  It's been so great having her around.  My roommate Shannon today made a comment that it will be weird to have her leave because she has just been so comfortable hanging around us.  Like our 4th roommate.  Courtney also really likes it here and said she feels like home here!!  I am so happy she had a great time here and I have been so happy with her here!!

We leave Sunday morning for our game vs. Eskiltuna.  We fly to Stockholm and then drive 2 hours.  Courtney is also coming to the game to watch!  Eskiltuna is just likes us...haven't won a game yet.  It should be a really good game.  I'm staying positive through this whole thing!!!  The time is coming soon!

Well I hope everybody has a great weekend!!  Good luck in your games, have safe travels, and enjoy the moments with those you care for!!  Much love to all!!

Hej o puss!

Thanksgiving a Success!!

FOOD, FOOD, FOOD and MORE FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

22 people at our Thanksgiving dinner last night!!  It turned out great and there was enough food for everyone!!  Teammates and friends joined us for the holiday and it was great.  It was really nice also having Courtney here!  So I even had some family here!!  Anyway, the food tasted amazing and the turkeys were great!  And the company was wonderful!!  I was very thankful for a great evening on Thanksgiving...so THANKS EVERYONE!!!

Madde, a teammate, also brought over here computer and hooked it up to our tv so we could watch some american football that she had downloaded.  That is totally a Thanksgiving tradition!!  It was so awesome to have american football on tv while we were eating dinner...haha! Great!!

Here are more pictures of our 22 guests!!

2nd Thanksgiving dinner I have cooked.  Looks like I am getting a little more experience at this.  This year was a little easier and not so stressful!  I think I have made my grandmothers proud!!

I am so happy everything turned out great and Thanksgiving was a success!!!

Happy T-Day for reals back home!!  Much love to everyone!!

Thanksgiving Dinner Tomorrow!!

So once a year I cook...and TOMORROW is the day!!  I have been busy preparing for the big dinner tomorrow!  I can't believe it is finally here!!  YEAH!

Tomorrow we are expecting around 20 people for our Thanksgiving dinner!!  The team and some other friends!!  Tonight I am starting to prepare for the big meal!  I have a couple pumpkin pies to bake and maybe just prepare myself for some dishes.  The dinner will start at 19.00...and I really hope there is enough food for everyone (which I am sure there will be!)  We have two turkeys!!

Hope everybody is thinking about what they are thankful for!  I miss my friends and family back home!  Especially during the holidays.

Time to cook, cook, cook!!!  True holiday style!  No practice tomorrow, just a day of preparation for the big dinner!

Happy gobble day!!

50 Years at Gammliahallen

Last night the team was invited to a formal dinner at Gammliahallen in celebration of its 50th anniversary.  This gave the team a chance to dress up and attend an event together!!  The food was really good but the entertainment wasn't the best.  It started to get better when me and the girls were the only people dancing on the stage at the end.  And they only played like 3 songs for us to dance to.  What the heck is that about??  Anyway, there were a lot of historical (?) people there that had some tie with Gammlia.  It was a pretty neat event and we made it fun!

Check out my hair!!  Anna did it!!  It looked SO COOL!!

Hanging out at our place before the dinner!!

We clean up nicely!!

or....maybe not

Hanging out in the lockerroom at Gammlia...HAHA!!

Jewels this was the funniest thing...HAHA

Some famous Swedish celebrity who I have no idea who it is??

The Rex crew!!! (I hate Rex btw!)

Afterwards a few of us got together at our place and hungout.  We played some card games...twister...etc.  Then Julia, Anna W and myself went out to Rex.  I had a great night and very much needed!! (have I mentioned I don't like Rex?)

Today we have to officiate a couple basketball games for little kids and then about 5 of us are going to the Dalen innebandy match!  It snowed a bunch last night.  And it has been freezing here lately.

This week we are having our Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We did all the shopping for the food yesterday, including buying the turkey.  We had to buy two since they don't quit have the big sizes like back home.  The entire team is invited on Wednesday and they are allowed to bring one person.  I think we will be expected around 20 people.  Should be a lot of fun!!  Courtney comes back from Italy on Monday.  She gets to join in on the celebration!!

Hope everybody had a great weekend!!  I have been really bad lately keeping in contact with people, so my goal this week is to do a better job at that ;)

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW!!

Later

Time for Change...

It's time for a change...

Another Freakn' Loss...

We lost again tonight vs. Norrköping by 7 pts.  We are getting closer.  It was a 4 pt game with 1 min left and we just couldnt score.  We had WAY TOO many turnovers...31 total.  We really need to figure somethings out.  But I am not going to write anymore because I am still pissed off...  write more later.

Exiled

My new favorite show is Exiled!!  It is so hilarious!  I am seriously addicted to watching all the shows right now.  You should check it out on www.mtv.com under shows!  It's people from the show Sweet Sixteen (rich, spoiled brats) being sent to harsh conditions around the world.  So funny!!  I love it right now!!

Check it out!

MATCH IMORGON!!!

GAME, GAME, GAME, GAME, GAME, GAME

BELIEVE, BELIEVE, BELIEVE, BELIEVE

WE CAN DO IT!!

GO COMETS....GO COMETS...GO COMETS...GO COMETS...GO COMETS!!!

That's all I have to say...

Send us some positive vibes!!

**Some good news to report!!  Next week we are getting a 190cm (6'3) post player from Russia!!  She is coming for a week tryout and then hopefully will be good enough to stay on the team!  She will be living with us during her tryout and hopefully longer!  I hope it works out and is something pretty exciting for the club.  It will be nice to get some height!!  Keep you posted!

Sister Day!!

Today Courtney and I went out to the ocean in Holmsund.  It was really beautiful but very COLD!!  Notice how red my nose is.

It was so beautiful...

After we froze for about 5-10 minutes we left and went back into Umeå.  It didn't take too long.  Then we had a fika at Skatbo (my new favorite place).  It was delicious and it was really great to spend some one on one time with my sister.  Really it was the first time since her trip out here!  We sat and talked a lot!  It was great and the fika was delicious!!  I love the tea there also...it's the bomb!

Ever since we got back home from Stockholm...things have been slow.  Just been resting some.  Last night Courtney went to bed at 4pm.  She slept through our practice, dinner and the rest of the evening.  I guess she woke up this morning at 4am.  Tonight she is going to stay-up and go to our practice and eat dinner with us.  We might go to O'Learys and check the scene out there after dinner.  Since that was one of my dad's favorite places when he was here.  Courtney is leaving tomorrow to spend 4 days in Italy with a friend from HS.  She will return Monday.

Friday we play a game against Norrköping at home!  I am so ready to play and finally get a freakin win!!  It's obviously not going to be an easy game, but if we play hard and good, there is a strong chance we can pick up a victory.  I really hope so!!

Saturday there is a big celebration for Gammlia's 50th anniversary (the gym we play in).  I guess there is going to be a 3 course meal and party afterwards.  The team will be attending the event.  I really have no idea what we wil be doing or what is going on...but it sounds like fun.  Plus it is a free dinner ;)

Watched OTH and Gossip last night with Julia.  Also baked some american chocolate chip cookies Courtney brought over!!  They were amazing!!  Tonight we have FCA...Sport for Life at our place.  Shannon will be leading the discussion.  Should be a good time.  Hope everyone is doing well!!

T2UL!

STOCKHOLM pt.3 Sunday

Car ride on Sunday

Sunday was a cold and rainy day in Stockholm...but we still had a great time!!!  We went and walked around in old city Stockholm and it was absolutely beautiful!!  I was all shopped out but the girls still did some shopping.  I watched...I spent too much money the day before.  The weather wasnt the best and it was pretty cold, but we survived and it was an amazing experience I will never forget.  Stockholm is so pretty sitting right on the water!

We started off going to Stockholm Stad Museum which wasnt anything spectacular but it was neat to walk around and get some history about Stockholm.

Stad Museum

It was raining but Shannon and I were good because we had our coffee...OH thank heaven for 711!

Stockholm's smallest alley, it was tiny!

Then we walked around some old shopping stores (very tourist) and stopped to eat a local cafe that Anna actually use to work at.

Next we went to the castle.  We were so fascinated by the guards standing guard!!  HAHA! Then we realized there was a parade starting in about 15 minutes, so we embraced the cold and snow and stood around waiting for the parade.  The parade included an army band and some more guards.  I guess we were watching the changing of the guard.  Pretty fun to watch.  Lots of tourists there but it was fun!  Interesting to see anyway...

Courtney trying to take a picture with the guard and the guard yelling at her to stay outside of the line.

IT SNOWED!!!

We got home last night at 23.30, long day...long night.  We came home to a bunch of snow in Umeå.  This morning I could barely get out of bed I was so tired.  Tomorrow I will show Courtney around more town.  Today we are just all lying around being lazy from our eventful weekend.  It was so much fun...and thanks to Anna's family for letting us stay with them and of course feeding us!!  It was so great!!!  Absolutely amazing!!

OK so I'm all blogged out now.  Have practice later and have to coach the beginner little girls before practice.  TTUL!

HEJDÅ!

STOCKHOLM pt.2 Dinner

On Saturday night Anna's family wanted us to experience a family Swedish dinner!  It was great and so nice to be around a family again.  It was also great for Courtney to experience some Swedish traditions when it came to eating food!!

At Anna's house with her parents...drinking some glog!

Drinking some glog with almonds and raisins!  And maybe some brandy...

Österman family!!!

Dinner

Courtney brought some pumpkin beer from America...it was very tasty!

What's for dinner....MOOSE with potatoes!!

Dessert was homemade ice cream with little red berries....delicious!!

After a FULL day of shopping and some sightseeing, we were absolutely exhausted.  So after dinner we decided it would be best just to spend the evening at home instead of going out.  Courtney was pretty tired from jet-leg and my ankle a little sore from all the walking we did earlier on it.  SO then we experienced another Swedish tradition and we took a sauna!  Yep Anna's family had a sauna in her house so we decided to do that instead.  It was relaxing and felt great.  After the sauna we just hungout for a little bit more and then crashed.  And I slept amazing!!

Saturday was a lot of fun!  We still had the whole day of Sunday....

STOCKHOLM part 1

1st official day in Stockholm!!  We began our voyage on Saturday morning, bright and early.  On Friday night we flew into the Stockholm airport around 20.00.  Standing front and center at terminal 4 was my sister Courtney waiting for us.  In fact, she had waited for a total of 6 hours at the airport.  Anna's pappa picked us up at the airport and took us to their home in the city!  It was so nice to stay and be a part of "homie" family this weekend!!

On Saturday morning, we began our day SHOPPING!  I can't believe how much I spent.  Here is some of the purchased items:
pair of black and dark blue jeans
jewelry: 3 necklaces, 2 pairs of earrings, and a sparkling ring
a black dress
4 nice tops (going out shirts)

Shopping till we dropped...

Dancers in the display window

**It was a lot more than I had planned to spend, but I believe it was some good quality things that I will get good use out of it!

I wasn't the only one that shopped that day.  In fact everybody had that itch!  Courtney had the buying hat itch.  In fact she bought a total of 2 winter hats but for the day she wore 3 different types of hats.  I happen to capture each hat in a picture (without even meaning to).

Hat #1

 Hat #2

Hat #3

For lunch we ate Sushi!!  It was really YUMMY!!  Shannon enjoyed her first sake with sushi!  It was so funny watching her reaction as she drank it.  Everybody got along so great it was awesome!  We were having a lot of fun eating sushi...who would of thought!

Shannon hating sake

After lunch we continued shopping a little bit more and then went to the Vasa Museum (Shannon, Courtney and me) while Anna went to watch her old team play.  The Vassa is a 17th century well perserved ship,  It was really huge and hard to take a good picture.  So instead we took pictures with all the wooden figures around the giant ship!!  After the museum we went and had a fika! Courtney's first fika!!

XOXO...

Stockholm Here We Come!!

My ROOMIES and me are headed down to Stockholm this weekend to pick my sister up!!  We leave after practice today at 18.55 and will meet my sister around 20.00.  I hope anyway...she won't have a cell phone so hopefully we can find her.  Looks like Anna has a fun and eventful weekend planned for us which is great!!  I'm so excited to see my sister and spend some quality time with her in Stockholm...YIPEEEE!!!  We get back pretty late on Sunday so that gives us two whole days!

I have to think of some things and ideas for my sister while she is here...Anybody have any suggestions??  I think I will take her to the Dalen innebandy guys game on Monday, Thanksgiving on Wednesday...What else??  Shopping probably...OH we will for sure go fika, probably come to my Swedish course one day!!  I need more things to do!!  Any ideas are welcome!

OK I need to go finish packing!!  Going out on Saturday night so I have to wear something really nice...this is Stockholm!!  Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Vi Ses Imorgon Courtney i Stockholm!!

Weekend in Stockholm....coming to get you Courtney!!!

Umeå Höstljus

Today was an eventful day for Shannon, Anna and myself.  After lunch we took a walk along the river.  It was a beautiful day but pretty cold.  After the walk, it inspired us to go and buy some winter asscessories.  So I bought some nice leather mittons and a new winter headband.  We continued to walk downtown and decided to go for a fika.  We found a new favorite place!!  Skatebo!!  It's awesome!!  We split a pot of tea and I had a sandwich (I barely ate lunch so I needed something).  The tea was the best tea I have ever had in my life!!  There was also a neat little shop in the cafe, with the coolest earrings!  Homemade and everything!  Not that expensive either...but I'm going to wait and buy some after our Stockholm weekend!  We were in heaven for about 2 hours (thats how long we spent at this place.)Then at practice today, we discovered our new winter jackets from the club!  They are really nice and warm!

After practice and dinner, Shannon, Anna and myself went to the Umeå Höstljus Show.  Tonight was the opening night for the light show!  It was alright...nothing that exciting.  Afterwards Shannon and I went and walked through the park and discovered hundreds of candles lit in the park along with some other creative lights.  It was really, really pretty.  I took a bunch of pictures to show everybody!!  But the pictures really don't capture the light as well as I hoped.  There were a lot of people out tonight and it was fun doing something with the entire community.  And who says Umeå never does anything cool in the winter!  The light show was a lot of fun!

Having some roomie fun in our new jackets!!!

In park with all the candles lit up!!  It was really cool!!!  Can you tell that's Shannon in the middle of the candles on the 2nd picture?!?!

Thanks roomies for a fun day and night!!  Can't wait for this weekend in Stockholm!!  I am so exhausted right now, looks like I'm to bed now!  Take care everyone!!

COURTNEY WILL BE HERE IN 2 DAYS!!!!

LATER!!

Jaha!!

LOOK AT ALL WHAT COURTNEY IS BRINGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving food, COOKIES, swedish fish, etc.........

YES!!!!!!!!!!

COURTNEY...3 MORE DAYS!

Three more days until Courtney comes!!  Weekend in Stockholm starts it all off!  Looking forward to doing some tourist stuff in Stockholm that I haven't had the chance to do yet!  Anna will be our personal tour guide!  I can't wait for my sister to get here, I'm really excited!

I believe Courtney's flight gets into Stockholm around 14.00.  Unfortunately we won't be able to get there until 20.30...so she will have to figure something out to do until then.  My suggestion is to try and take a nap!

Today was a good day!  Busy again.  Morning shooting practice, school, weight room, and practice.  Pretty much sums it all up.  I learned some new adjectives today in school!  Billig, dyr, tjock, smal, ren, smutsig, rik, fattig, frisk, sjuk.  Let me try and describe myself...

Jag är en stark flicka med ljust hår.  Jag är också rolig och aldrig tråkig!  Jag har ett rent sovrum med moderna saker!  Jag är frisk och det är svårt att bli sjuk.  Idag är jag glad och lugn!!

So there you go!!  Hope everybody is doing well!!  Good practice today...I'm seeing the brighter side of things!!!  Our time is coming soon...I can feel it!!

Nu ska jag titta på Gossip and OTH!!  My favorites!!

Vi hörs!!

BUSY MONDAY!!

Holy cow what a busy Monday!  Seems like it has been non-stop ever since 9am this morning.  But finally I have had time to sit down and relax.  Here is some of my schedule...

Woke up, went to the bank, post office, and store.  Then to lunch....

Next we had a farewell fika for Danny!  Danny is headed back to America for about 2 months and will return in January.  We are really going to miss him!  It's been great hanging out with another fellow American but he will return.  And he better bring back some goodies for us!!  Anyway, the fika was nice...We just ate some delicious cookies, drank coffee, and played some cards.  Danny squeezed in a win by at the end and beat me by 5 points in gin rummy.  Booo....  Here are some pictures from the event.  Travel safe Danny!  See ya when you get back!

So proud of this picture!!! HAHA!

Then I went and coached the U16 team at 16.00 to 17.00.  From 18.00 to 19.00 Anna, Shannon, and myself started a new basketball clinic.  This one is for little, little girls who have never played basketball...EVER.  There were about 20 of them or so, ranging in age of 6-10 years.  And they absolutely didn't know any english what-so-ever.  Talk about difficult.  First, they can't even play basketball, and second, they can't even understand us.  But it was kind of cool because it really forced me to speak swedish.  Which I did and sometimes they actually understand me!!  HA!  I am really glad we are doing this, but it's going to be more basic than I thought.  I mean we have to start with MAJOR fundamentals.  Shannon, Anna and I wondered after if we were ever that bad at basketball.  We just didn't understand how you start out that bad...  We have some work to do!!

After the basketball school, we had practice at Teg.  Then we had to rush to dinner at the hotel.

EXCITING NEWS!!!!  My friend Janey had a baby girl yesterday!!  Her mom called and told me today!!  She said she looks just like Janey.  I can't wait to see pictures!  I am sure she is adorable...OHHHHHH!!!!  Can't wait!  I am going to call her later tonight so I will post more details later when I know more.

I talked to my grandparents tonight.  Sounds like everything is going well back home.  Courtney will be here in 4 days now!!  And our weekend in Stockholm will start it all off!

T2UL!

Wish List!

Less than a week now and Courtney will be here!!  6 more days!!  I made a list for her for all the things I want her to bring from America!!

can of cream corn

Jiffy cornmuffin box

2 cans of cream of mushroom

white crest stripes

10 packages of cookies...6 oatmeal chocolate chip & 4 chocolate chip

bath and body works lotion...any scent...I need something

cake mix...any flavor

frosting...to match the cake mix

big bag or reeses peanut butter cups (the big kind)

peanut butter m&m's!!

2 boxes of stovers stuffing
2 cans of gravey (turkey flavor i think)
bag of chocolate chips
bag of butterscotch chips
2 cans of pumpkin

Some of the stuff is for Thanksgiving dinner that I discovered last year Sweden doesnt have.  So it will be even better this year!!  I may add a few more things before she heads out.

Today things are better.  Shannon and I went and walked around downtown for a bit.  Then we went and bought a ton of godis!  Seem to be the cure for everything!!  Tonight we are going to hangout with Sanna.  She is coming over to watch a movie or something along those lines.  It will be nice to hangout with Sanna because I haven't seen here that much at all since she stopped playing for the team.  But she is still a good friend and I am looking forward to spending some time with her!!  Soft night (as they say here in Sweden)!

Until then, I am going to watch some Dexter and some past episodes of One Tree Hill!!  And keep eating my godis!  I got a lot!  Hope everyone is having a good weekend.  OH and grandma, I might be calling you soon for some more recipes!!  So be prepared!!

Later!

Another Loss :(

We lost again today 82-64.  Just not our luck.  Stockholm 08 was a good team but I wish we could of played better.  I had 21 pts, 8 steals and 7 rebounds for the game.  Anna had 18pts.  We have to figure somethings out...and I need to be more patient I guess.  Our time will come soon.  I'm not giving up.  I'm feeling kind of down right now....so I need to get lifted back up.  I'll be fine with some time.  Talk to you all later.

Game Day!!

Today we finally play again kl. 19.00 at Gammliahallen vs. Stockholm-08!!!  I am so ready to play and same with the team!

Mohr vill ha ut mer av sitt lag!

There was an article in the newspaper today about our game.  http://www.folkbladet.nu/?p=125021  Just talks about how I am demanding more from the team and that I think we can do much better.  And how in no means I feel like our season is over just because we havent won a game yet.  I'm expecting a good crowd tonight and I hope it motivates everyone!  I'm so excited to play and it's going to be a fight!

Our game is at 19.00 here in Sweden, so that means it's 11.00 back home.  So if you have time check out our game on http://www.basket.se/ and click on live stats.

COURTNEY WILL BE HERE IN ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!!!  Only a week away...how crazy!

Happy Friday everybody!  Hope you have a great weekend!!

GO COMETS!!

Randomness

Not as much to report...

I took some random pictures yesterday so I thought I would throw them on my blog.  HAHA!  Just one of those random days...

Pictures: Tree out in front of our house (I took this from our kitchen).  Shannon and the sick rug given to us.  Proud day for America!  Obama picked as the new president!  Shannon and I being patriotic with our flags!!

Game tomorrow vs. Stockholm 08 kl. 19.00.  You have no idea how bad I want to win this game!  I'm going to do everything it takes...so please send some prayers our way!

Back to school again later today.  It was nice to see my classmates again (it had been 2 weeks since I had seen them last).  A lot of the same classmates back and some extra students also.  I have the same teacher which is great!  He likes basketball so that is even better! Many of my classmates asked me for tickets so it appears like they like the games also!!  Hope we can give them more of a game tomorrow and good result!!

Well I better go get ready for the day!!  Hope everybody is having a good morning...day...evening...whatever it is!  Talk to you later!!

Hejdå!

Today I started my second level of Swedish as a Foreign Language.  I also received my test back from level 1 and I got a 82.5 out of 90!!!!  Only a few mistakes here and there.  Not bad at all.  I was happy with it!  Looking forward to this class!!!

Game on Friday vs. Stockholm 08 at home!  We haven't played a game in almost 2 and half weeks.

I'm going to go watch Gossip and One Tree Hill now.  Not many people call me anymore because I keep them up-to-date with my blogg...so maybe if I don't write as much, they may start calling me again ;)  Vi får se!  I am also going back to writing some of my bloggs in swedish...it's really good for me!!

ELECTION DAY TODAY Nov. 4th

The local newspaper here in town interviewed Shannon and I about the election today.  It was crazy all the questions they asked, but they made it come down to my choice...Obama vs. Shannon's choice...McCain.  Check out the article at

Happy Election Day...May the best guy win (Obama!)

Blah!

So this weekend was kind of boring....not very productive AT ALL.  I did nothing really.  Yeah it was nice but maybe I should have done something with meaning.  I think it was a weekend I needed...and finally I feel rested up!  Which is perfect because we have a game on Friday.  First game in 2 and half weeks.  It feels like forever since the last time we played.  Probably because our last game was Oct. 22 when we lost to Luleå by 7pts.  Our last game was more promising, but we have ourselves a tough game again on Friday.  We need to be very focused this week at practice.  I did watch some game film yesterday on Stockholm 08.  I am still stuck on what we should do to beat them.  I mean they are a solid team.  They have 5 good players that average double figures in scoring every game.  That means they are an all-round team!  Later today I will be getting their game vs. Marbo that they lost earlier this year.  It will be interesting to see what Marbo did, and if they did anything special.  It probably helped Marbo that Leah Metcalf had 37 pts against 08.  So somewhere we can expose a defense weakness...vi får se!

This week starts my Swedish language course again!!  I've been a little rusty these past couple of weeks.  But my class will be good for me!  Get me back into the groove of it!! :)

So we have successfully completed Lost Season 2 and Season 3 arrived earlier today!!  So we already started watching the first episode.  I also watched Walle and Walk the Line this weekend.  A couple episodes of Dexter and caught up with Top Model s11.  I think tomorrow we might stay up late and see who wins the presidential election back home.  PLEASE don't yell at me too bad, but NO, I didn't vote.  It was too difficult and I completely forgot before I left to get an absentee ballet.  But I am sure America will do fine in picking our next president.  I don't really have a strong opinion when it comes to politics, but I see myself leaning more towards the democrat side.  Sorry if that offends some people but I think that is how I feel.  And I hope Obama pulls it off and wins the presidency!!  I guess that would have been my vote.

I talked to Courtney today and I guess she will be spending a weekend in Italy while she is here.  Which is fine, she will be here 20 days and I am sure we will need a break from one another.  Today I am making a list of things I want her to bring back!  I couldn't really bring that much because of all my clothes and shoes, but Courtney is going to bring a whole suitcase of stuff I want.  Which already includes a brand new nano Ipod 16GB blue!!  Härligt!  I'm sure the suitcase will be packed with things like cookies and cakes....but also Thanksgiving stuff.  We are going to have Thanksgiving with the team while she is here.  So I need to start bringing out my recipes from last year, that both my grandmas helped me with and try and do it all again!  It's going to be great.  Two more weeks!   We will celebrate it on Wednesday instead of Thursday.  SO ALL MY SWEDISH FRIENDS...WRITE THIS DATE DOWN...WEDNESDAY NOV. 19TH WILL BE OUR THANKSGIVING DINNER!

Halloween pictures looked great!  Some great costumes!

COURTNEY ARRIVES IN 11 DAYS when we meet her in Stockholm!!!  Getting closer...
