Umeå

Cold, rainy, gloomy....yep I must be back in Umeå.  The weather today has been COLD and very wet.  No fun when your riding bike.  But some exciting news, I got my car today!!  So you know what that means??  I am driving to practice!!  Haha.  I have never heard of the name of this brand before so it must be an european brand of some sort....it's a Renault Clio, and it's black.  So I plan to still ride my bike for a bit longer until the weather gets too unbearable.

Well what else is new since I got here??  Really not that much has happened.  On my trip over I seemed to of picked up a cold of some sort.  So I haven't been feeling the best.  My nose has been stuffy and I cough a bit.  It almost feels like a weight on my chest when I breathe.  I worked out in the morning practice yesterday and had a hard time breathing, so in the evening I took it easy and didn't participate in the playing or running.  The team actually ran the beep test and did a great job!  Very impressive.  Today I am feeling a little better.  We had 8.20 in the morning practice, and I completed the entire practice.  It was some shooting and some defensive work, then we ended with some 3 on 3.  After we hit the weight room.  We will have another practice tonight at 5.00 for an hour.

Tomorrow we play two games, vs. Sundsvall (10am) and IKSU (4pm).  They are both div. II teams and we play Jämtland on Sunday (also another div. II team).  Monday we travel up to Luleå to play them on their home court.  So that's 4 games in 3 days.  They will be our last practice games before our first game of the season on Oct. 9th in Norrköping vs. 08.

So sorry it's a bit of a boring blog post.  Not much happening right now.  I am still trying to catch up with my sleep and plan to take a little nap now.  That's one thing this weather is perfect for...NAPPING!!  I have done a lot of unpacking but still have some work on that.  Once I've completed that, I will try to post some pictures of my new place.  I will also have to post some pictures still from Mike and I's Vegas trip!!

The hardest thing so far being back is missing my loving boyfriend Mike.  This is going to be challenging for us, but what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger right!!  I am not going to lie, this is really hard...and I am only 2 days in.  And it just feels different this year than any other year I have been here before.  I just know what I have back home is something sooooo special and he means the world to me.  Love you babe!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  I will keep you posted on our games and how they go this weekend!!

I'm Back in Sweden

Just landed about an hour ago in Arlanda, Stockholm.  So here I am back for my fourth year in Sweden.  I can't believe it's my 4th year.  Time really does fly fast.

Last night...or I guess Monday night (back in America) my night was perfect with Mike.  He took me out to dinner at Sullivan's Steakhouse (a really nice restuarant) in downtown Denver.  Everything was great and I know these next 3 months are going to be hard, but I am confident and feeling great that Mike and I will make it through this and then be able to spend the rest of our lives together!!  I can't wait for that moment.  I LOVE YOU BABE!!

But for now, it is back to buisness in Sweden.  My flight for Umeå leaves in about 2 and half hours and this waiting now seems to be the longest part of the trip.  3 flights and 2 days later...I will finally be back in Umeå and getting back together with the team.  It will also be nice to see some of my friends again!  It has been 4 months that I have been gone now.

Tomorrow it is my first practice in the morning and then a second practice later that evening.  This weekend we will play 3 games vs. division 2 teams, in the Uman Cup and then travel to Luleå on Monday to play the Damligan team Luleå.  First weekend back and getting right into it.  Playing right away will be really good for me and I am excited to play with the team.

Now my biggest challenge will be to is fight this jet-leg off.  After 3 years I still have no good solution for this.  I didn't sleep very much at all on the plane, so I am running on NO SLEEP.  I assume I will take a nap after lunch, even though I should hold out and wait until the evening.  But a little nap shouldn't hurt and getting settled into my new apartment will only take a little time.

Well there is a quick update.  My day is just beginning here while in America all my friends and family are fast asleep.  What a crazy 8 hour difference.  Hopefully I will give a better update when I am situated and starting up the ordinary life here.  Take care everyone and thanks for all the warm wishes!!

I Love Him!

This weekend was great in Las Vegas and I am so glad I got to spend it with Mike!!  I can't wait to live the rest of my life with him and I love him dearly.  I am going to miss him sooooo much and today is my last day with him :(  I hope the 3 months goes by fast because I know it's going to be hard.

The wedding was a lot of fun!!  Fun times with some great friends of Mike's.  It was a great view of Vegas from the reception.  The reception was held at a suite in the MGM Grand.

Today I am packing up and getting ready to leave tomorrow.  I feel a little rushed, but I will get it all done.  Then I am meeting my dad downtown for lunch and to spend some time with him!!  Tonight it will be some goodbyes and the hardest goodbye will be tomorrow morning when Mike drops me off at the airport.  My flight leaves 10.25 and I arrive in Stockhom 7.45 Wednesday.  Land in Umea at 12.25.

I can't believe how quick the time has gone by.  I will try to blog again here soon with some more pictures from the wedding.  Take care everyone!!

Viva Las Vegas!!

Tomorrow I leave to join Mike in Las Vegas for our final weekend together before I head out to Sweden on Tuesday.  Mike is going down today for the bachlor party, so I will come down tomorrow and get there in time for the rehearsal dinner and then of course the wedding on Saturday.  Pretty exciting to go to Vegas also!!  I haven't been there in 5 years, last time was my senior year in college for spring break.  I'm really looking forward to seeing all the wonderful sites Vegas has to offer, and Mike and I even plan to attend a show one night.  The ceremony for the wedding will take place out on a golf course and then the reception will be at the MGM Grand Hotel!!  I have a feeling it's going to be very beautiful.

Yesterday I had a very productive day.  I deep-cleaned my car and organized all the stuff that I had collected over the summer.  Then I moved over to my clothes and organized my suitcases.  I'm trying to take over less than I ever have before.  I have to obtain a few goodies for some friends over in Sweden, but nothing too crazy.  Just some chocolate chips, so Sophia can make American cookies....and I guess that's the only request I've gotten.  So please quickly make a request if you want something!  I also packed for Vegas and I'm good to go.

So now kind of begins the good-byes over here.  It feels a bit different since I know that I am coming home for Christmas.  I know that will be here before I know it.  Especially with season starting in 2 weeks once I get there!!

Well I have some stuff to get done today and then I have to give Mike a ride to the airport.  Then I will go workout myself and then coach a workout!  Then over to Kellie's for the night, because she is giving me a ride to the airport on Friday.  So I probably will not be blogging again until after my trip and I get home Sunday night.  SOOOOOO everyone have a great weekend!!!!!

Oliver is Here!!

Welcome to the world Oliver!!  Finally he decides to make an appearance!!  My good friends Maria and Kalle in Sweden had their sweet little boy on September 10th after almost everybody guessed wrong on the date.  He just didnt want to come out for awhile!! :P  My was guess Aug. 31, but obviously I was WAY off!!

I am so excited to meet him when I get there!!  I can't believe I am leaving in one week from today.  The time has gone by so fast.  I thought it seemed so long, but now the time is almost here.  I am excited to get back to a team that has been working hard and doing some good stuff!  But also this year is going to be one of the hardest goodbyes so far.  But if time conitnues flying by, three months will be fast...especially during season.

Now it's the continued days of working out.  Friday I will leave to meet Mike in Las Vegas for our last weekend together before I leave.  One of his good friends from college is getting married there.  It is going to be great to spend some quality time with Mike on this mini-vacation!!  He won't have any basketball he has to attend to!!

I heard a lot of positive things about this past weekend in Ostersund from my team.  Losing by 10 pts to Sallen and 08...it is really not that bad since they are some of the top teams in the league.  And congratulations on the 20 pt victory over Lindigo.  I hope when I get there I can only help and make us even better!!

Last night I made a little Swedish dinner for my friends Amie and Jason.  Since I have been staying with them over the summer, I promised I would make them dinner sometime.  So the time came last night and I thought what a perfect idea and give them a taste of Sweden!!  So I made meatballs with potatoes and for dessert kladkakka.  It was a very interesting experience considering I have never made either one.  The meatballs were a little crumbly, I couldnt get them to stay in their ball form.  But they still tasted allright.  I think I put too much flour in the kladkakka because it didnt turn out right at all.  We were still able to eat it though.  Overall, it was a semi-successful dinner!  But I am no pro when it comes to cooking Swedish cuisine.  Maybe I should practice more.

So the goodbyes begin over here!  But soon the hellos will happen over there!!  Take care everyone!!

Rockies Game!

Yesterday my dad and I went to the Rockies game vs. the Reds.  My dad is a die-hard Reds fan, so I knew it would be a fun game to watch with him.  The Rockies have been "red hot" winning their last 6 games coming into this game, and beating the Reds 3-0 in this series.  The Reds have had the best record in the National league and are leading their division by 6 games or so.

But after yesterday, the Rockies swept the Reds and extended their winning streak to 7 games after their 6-5 win over the Reds.  My dad was not too happy with the outcome...when I mentioned to him, "what do you think about that game?"  His only response was "Well it doesn't matter because the Reds are in the play-offs and the Rockies aren't."  (with a bitter sound in his mouth).

Another interesting story at the game.  When we got to the game, we found some people sitting in our seats in the 18th row.  They said they couldnt get tickets together so they wondered if we could take their seats two rows up.  Sure we said, because they were 2 rows up and closer to the field...plus we didnt mind helping out this family.  Well later in the 5th inning, a foul ball comes flying towards us and hits the boy that was sitting in our orginal seats.  I have never been that close to a foul ball before in my life, and here I would of probably touched the ball if we were in orginal seats.  Still pretty cool though.  I ended up dropping my phone in excitement of maybe catching this ball!

The weather was nice!!  HOT!  Lucky after about 5 innings the shade came to our seats.  The Rockies were losing after the first 2 innings 5-0 but fought their way back slowly each inning and got the lead finally in the 8th inning.  GO ROCKIES!!

Our seats were the 16th row on the 3rd base line!

A not so happy Dad...haha!!

So now it's Friday and the end of the week has made it here.  The weekend awaits us!!  Today I will workout and then train the HS girl.  Tomorrow I will also do another workout with her.  They want to do 3 practices a week, so that gives me a little more work which is nice!  Mike and I will head over to Jay and Kellie's house this Saturday for a little get-together!  Kind of the last "gathering" for all of us before I leave in less than 2 weeks.  It's a people of Walmart theme, so we have to get creative on some outfits.  Should be some good pictures after this weekend!

This week I got Mike a little present...

This picture framed and a special message to him...just describing how much I love him!!!  This is actually our first picture we took together.  It's in San Diego at the Padres game!!  Who would of guessed 3 months later, still doing great!!    Love you babe!!

Alright have a great weekend everyone!!

And good luck to my team the Comets in Ostersund playing their first games of preseason!!  Kick some butt guys!!

Mackey Arrives in Sweden!

So today Katie Mackey arrived to Umea, Sweden around 12.25.  Yep that is right for some of you who probably didnt know, but Mackey from Fort Lewis is going to be my teammate this year for the Umea Comets.  So it's going to be kind of neat experience to have another fellow Skyhawk with me out on the court.  I have never played with Mackey before, I have only coached her.  In fact, when I was the assistant basketball coach at Fort Lewis, I helped recruit her on the team!!  She is an extremely athletic player, has a great shot, and can run for days.  She is a taller guard, so she does have the ability to rebound and play solid defense.  She has also played on a very successful college team, runners-up in the National Championship.  And that is what I like the most about her, she knows how to win and will find ways to WIN!!  Just what we need.  I am looking forward to getting back and playing with my new teammates.

Mackey is not the only new teammate this year.  Also joing the team is Henna Koponen from Finland, Janett Perv from Estonia, and Ida Assa from Lulea.  I know there are a few others as well that are helping out with practice.  And possibly returning to the team is Madde Malmbom from Sundsvall.  Henna played 4 years in America at Coker College, a division II school out on the east coast.  So it will be nice to have 3 players on the team with collegiate experience!  Returning from last year is Caro Siegfelt, Julia Hamre and Johanna Lundstrom.  So I really think we are stronger than the past 3 seasons I have been here.  I am so excited to get back and start playing.  I know the team is traveling to Ostersund this weekend to play against a couple of teams in the Damligan in the KFUM tournament, so I wish them much luck!!  GO GETT'EM GIRLS!!

I had a great workout today!!  I ran to the park, did some good sprints, and ran back from the park.  Tonight it will be shooting with Mike hopefully!!  Still getting prepared to head over...which will be in 2 weeks from today.  The time is going by fast!

Keep having a great week everyone!!

TAKE CARE!

A Calm Weekend

This weekend was pretty calm and relaxing!!  I am house-sitting for my friends Amie and Jason who traveled to Texas for the weekend.  So that involves watching their 14 month old great dane, Parker.  So I've had a house to myself and it's been nice!!  Mike came over Friday night, and we just watched some tv and too it easy.  Saturday I slept in (except for the 5am dog feeding and potty break), worked out during the day (some running in the park), and made some dinner.  Mike and I went downtown to meet up with his coaching partner Adam and his wife Emily.  It was a nice night together with everyone!!  Today has also been calm, just more sleeping and lounging on the couch.  The best part was I got to hangout with Mike all day for the first time in a long time, and it was greatttt!!  I love that guy!!

So this week looks to be very uneventful.  My main goal will be to workout and probably workout some more.  I will have two sessions coaching an individual workout, with the high school girl that I started with last week.  Then Thursday it will be the Rockies game with my dad.  The Rockies will be playing my dad's favorite team, the Reds.

Well I'm pretty boring right now, so that's all I have for now.  I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

KRAM!!

TGIF!!

FRIDAY!!  Thank goodness it's Friday!!  Finally the weekend is almost here!  Labor Day weekend is a holiday over here in America, and I am so excited because finally Mike will have a day off on Sunday to spend with me!!  I am looking forward to that.  In two weeks from today, we will be traveling to Las Vegas together for a friend of Mike's wedding.  So that will be a nice final trip for us before I head over to Sweden.  It's getting closer and closer.

I received a phone call the other day from VK newspaper in Sweden.  They called and asked me some questions about why I am coming over soo much later.  Then he asked me about the team and everything.  I thought it was going to be an article on our upcoming season and the team, but it turned out to be article about me almost leaving the Comets and staying in America.  Regardless, the article was good and it talks about how I've fallen in love and that this will be my final year in Umea.  It's bittersweat really.  It's something that has been a part of my life for the past 3 years (soon to be 4 years) that I've enjoyed, but at the sametime I'm excitd to start a new life back in America.  Anyway, I super excited to get back to Sweden and start playing basketball, but my family, boyfriend and friends will be missed at the sametime.

well anyway, here is a link to the article.  Family and friends here...go to google translate http://translate.google.com/#sv|en| if you want to see it in english.

Quick update on what's going on here.

This is my last week of babysitting baby Jaxon.  It's been a lot of fun and something I've really enjoyed!!  But by not watching him now, I can really focus my days on just working out which will be really good!

What a happy baby!!

Wednesday and Thursday I have been working out a high school girl with some basketball skills.  Also have hit the weight room with her.  It's been a lot of fun getting back to coaching and being in the gym!  She works hard and really listens to what I say which is great!!  I will continue to work her out for the next 2 weeks while I am still here.

HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND EVERYONE!!    Have a fun and exciteful weekend and travel safe if you are going anywhere.

Maria!

One of my best friends in Sweden is about to POP any day now.  The baby is almost here and I can't wait to meet the little guy!!  It's going to be a lot of nights hanging out with Maria and the babies when I return to Umea!!

Any day now...

Look at that tummy!!  I already didnt guess the right date, but any day now the baby will be here!!!

And many more days to play with Leo and the new one!!

YES MY ONE TRUE LOVE...LEO & MAMY

Miss you guys so much and see you soon!!  Can't wait to meet the new family addition and also see the new house!!  I hope you have a room for me in there?!!?

Kisses

Crunch Time!!

Let the hard times begin!!  It's time to work hard and get in shape for the upcoming season!!  All sweat and glory left out on the hardwood floor!  The hair on my arm starts to rise as I get excited about the games to come and the competition that awaits us!!  But now it's preparation time.  NO PAIN NO GAIN!  It's always hard to push yourself during this time, but the important thing is to remember the rewards when you are out on the floor pushing yourself to the max for that victory!!  I can't wait!!

Today my workout consisted of a 1 mile run to a park, a sprint workout, and a 1 mile run cool down.  Tomorrow I will focus on my strength training and a shooting workout hopefully with Mike!  As my team prepares across the giant ocean, now I must push myself to be at their level when I get there in 3 weeks.  I must remind myself this everyday and push even harder!!  We are all working hard for the goal of success!  And this year I hope we can get a bit more W's than the past years.  I got a feeling this year might be the year!

Can't wait to practice with my new and old teammates!!  Keep pushing hard and see you soon!!

TEAM WORK!!!

Work hard and good luck girls.  See ya in soon!

GO COMETS!

Swimmer Jaxon

This past week I continued to watch Jaxon and I will do it for one more week again coming up.  Yesterday Jaxon and I met up with Kellie and Charlie and the rest of her family to go swimming.  Jaxon was absolutely adorable in the water, kicking and splashing his arms all over the place.  He absolutely loved it!!  It was a fun adventure!!

My weeks have been pretty calm and boring for the most part.  Nothing new and exciting going on, so it's been hard to blog about nothing.  This weekend seems to be pretty uneventful.  Mike has started class today, so it's hard to plan and actually do something during the day.  For me I am going to go workout and watch some WNBA play-offs on TV.

Today I have a very strong craving for some GODIS!!  Some swedish candy!!  It's just not the same here as in Sweden.  I have to go to the gas station or store and just buy a candy bar.  Where is my bag of candy and the variety of selections??  I guess I will have to wait until the end of September.

For those of you who don't know...the date is set and I will return to Umea on September 22nd.  I leave Denver the 21st, and 24 hours later I'm in Sweden.

Well that's all I got for now.  I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Wedding Bliss

Last night Mike and I went to a wedding.  His childhood friend Eric got married and Mike was a groomsmen in the wedding.  It was a lot of fun!!  I didnt know really anybody there, but by the end of the night...I had made some more friends!!  The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was a blast!!  And of course, I had the best date ever!!

The bride and groom!

Check out that stud!!  Mike looking nice as a groomsman!

So since Mike was in the wedding, I had to find a friend to sit with during everything.  I met Krista, whose husband was a groomsman as well.  Krista and I then became each others dates until our men came and joined us for the reception!!

Rich, Justin and Mike...Groomsmen!

Out of the dance floor!!  Fist pump anyone??

Last night was a lot of fun!!  Tonight I am staying in watching some TV and blogging.  Tomorrow I will play two basketball games in our Sunday league.  Its going to be tough playing back to back games, but I'm looking forward to it!  Now it is really time to get in shape!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Nanny Amy!

Just call me Nanny Amy for now!!  Yesterday and today I am helping out Nick and Steph with their 7 month old, JAXON being his Nanny!!  Jaxon is a super easy baby in my opinion...play, nap, eat, play some more, nap...babies really do have great lives.  It was a lot of fun taking care of him!  Kellie and Charlie also came over and played with us yesterday.  Charlie is getting so big...already 10 months old.  Soon he is going to be turning 1 yrs. old.  So crazy how fast the time goes.  It's been a lot of fun watching these two boys grow this summer.  I can't even imagine how much bigger they will be when I return from Sweden.  I am sure they will be walking around all over the place.

Charlie and Jaxon

Jaxon!

The Charlie man!

Things are started to slow down here.  Mike and I will be attending his friend Eric's wedding tonight.  Mike is a groomsmen so I will be watching him walk down the aisle from the side.  Should be a great time though!  I am really looking forward to it!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!  Enjoy the last days of summer while they are still here.

Quick Summer Re-Cap

OKAY...so here is a short summer recap of what went on this summer for me.  It has been busy but so much fun!!  Lots of trips and time spent with family and friends!!  What could I ask for more??  Time sure does fly when having fun!!

Janey and me the weekend after my birthday.  Janey's in-laws...Nancy and Jim, took us all out to the park for hamburgers and cupcakes!!  It was a great day in the park!!

SAN DIEGO!!

Mike and I go to San Diego for the 4th of July weekend!!  We went to a Padre's game at Petco Stadium.  Afterwards we meet up with Karen Thies and her boyfriend Stan at the Tilted Kilt!  It was a good time all together sharing past memories and creating new ones!!

Karen and me!

Lindsay and me go and see Tim McGraw in concert on her birthday!!  It was a full night of singning to Tim and dreaming about him taking off his shirt (that never happened).  Also a great show by Lady Antebellum, who opened for Tim.

Washington Trip

On my trip to Washington to visit Courtney, we stopped to see our former step-dad Poflee in Spokane, WA.  For the first time I get to meet his almost 2-year old Ashika, who was absolutely so adorable!!  She had the prettiest features on a baby I have ever seen.  It was a great day spent with Ashika and Poflee (who I hadnt seen in almost 10 years).  It was almost like that much time never passed by us.

Kelsey joined us in Washington, it was a lot of rafting and beautiful scenary watching.  Quality time spent with the sister and some crazy rafting adventures as well, including Kelsey falling in the river and then getting rescued by Courtney!!

FIST PUMPING FRIDAY with Amie, Jason and Mike one night in Denver!  Just more great times with my friends and boyfriend!!

So I cant complain...my summer has been great so far.  I'm looking forward to my final 4 weeks here and then it is back to buisness in Sweden!!

Tonight Mike and I will be attending a rehearsal dinner for his friend's wedding on Friday.  We have been busy moving him into his new place also.

OH MORE EXCITING NEWS!!!  My dad starts his NEW job on Thursday in Longmont!!!  I am so happy for him and see you this weekend Dad!!

Cheers for now!!

A Hard Decision...but Finally Made!

So I am back in the blogging world after about 2 months off.  Sorry about that, but this summer has been a crazy whirl-wind for me!!  And it all started with basketball camp at Colorado School of Mines in early June.  For those of you who don't know...I met my boyfriend Mike at camp!!  And ever since then, I have spent almost everyday with him (except for a 2-week vacation in July) falling more and more in love each day.  SO how did it all start...well early in our romance, Mike asked me to go to San Diego with him for the weekend.  And that is when I began to fall in love with this great guy!  We just got along so great and things just felt RIGHT!  It's just a feeling I have that is hard to describe.  And it's even more crazy that I am sitting here writing about this because I never thought I would be the type to do that.  But now I can honestly make the statement: it really does happen when you least expect it!

Mike and me at Coronado Beach in San Diego!!

Things continue to be great between Mike and I, and as we have gotten more serious...so has the discussion about our future together.  And the biggest issue is me shipping off to Sweden to play basketball for my fourth year.  At first I thought there was no possible way I could be appart from Mike for so long.  I was scheduled to be gone for 8 months with no return.  My thoughts were to stay and be together with Mike here in Denver.  Mike is unable to come to Sweden with me because of his job as an assistant basketball coach at Metro State College, so that possibility was out of the picture.  So I was leaning towards staying...but thankfully my club the Comets, compromised and were very understanding in allowing me to come over later and return for Christmas time in order to make things workout between us!  And I get to return and play basketball, which is one of my greatest passions in life!!  So now I feel content with my decision.  I know I am going into my fourth and final year of playing basketball in Sweden, and I get to finish it the right way!  And I am super excited about our potential this season at being a great team, and competing in the league this year!!  I'm looking forward to it!!

So I know a lot of you have been wondering what I have been up to and what I would be doing...but here is a little update!!  I promise now to keep a better blog and will probably continue to keep it updated my final month in America!  And then of course, my adventures in Sweden.

I hope everyone has had a great summer!!

Talk soon...KRAM

Coming Soon...

So I promise that my blog will come alive here soon.  Be expecting a post in the very near future!!

It's coming soon...

Happy Birthday Sophia!!

Just wanted to wish my bestest a very happy birthday!!

Sophia turns 28 today!!  Miss you tons my friend and I can't wait until we are together again celebrating the good times!!  Hope you have a great day and just know I am thinking about you!!

MISS YOU!!  LOVE YOU!!

Happy Father's Day!

Today is Father's Day and I want to wish my dad a very HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!  Today I will be spending the day with him in Denver.  I think we will meet up for lunch and then attend the Rockies game starting at 1.00.  It's kind of our thing to go to the game, so I am really looking forward to it.

So it's been a long time since my last blog post.  That's mainly because I have been working basketball camp the last 2 straight weeks.  And not that much time or energy really to sit at the computer and write a post.  But this morning I have finally found time!!

So my first two camps are complete.  The first week I coached 3rd and 4th grade boys and this past week was 5th and 6th grade boys.  This last weeks camp was actually pretty fun because we get to draft our team.  I picked all the players on my team and are stuck with them the entire week.  The first game we played in camp, we end up losing by 25 pts or so...and I'm thinking at this point that it's going to be a loooooooooooooong week with this team.  But then we flip it around and go on to win our next 11 games during the week, including the 5 on 5 championship!!  So that was nice and fun at the same time.

My third camp will be July 5th and will last only 4 days.  But this is the long camp that goes from 8am until 9pm.

Tuesday I am off to Boston to visit Jamie, and then we will travel to upstate New York for Andy and Caitlin's wedding!!  It's going to be great to see them all again!!  Nice for another little vacation also!

Now I will leave you with some pictures these past 2 weeks.  Being in Denver I was able to visit a lot of my friends and their babies of course.

Jaxon and Charlie playing together.

Miss Norah Jane during her bath.

I spent the last two nights with Janey and her family, but will head up to Denver for the next two days.  I'm all over the place this summer!!

Take care everyone!!

Basketball Camp

Now begin the days of camp...basketball camp.  I'm currently down in Denver now staying with Amie and Jason Faust and working the Colorado School of Mines men's basketball camp.  This week is elementary school aged kids and next week will be the comp camp 5th grade to HS.  I will probably coach the 7th and 8th grade boys.  This weeks camp is pretty easy...it only goes from 9-12.  Next week we will go 9-5pm.  And then I will have one more camp the second week of July.  So 3 camps, 3 weeks long.  I have June 20th to July 5th off from camp, so I'm going  to Boston to visit Jamie June 22nd till the 29th. Works out nice that I can also go to Andy's wedding in upstate New York the 26th of June.  Jamie is going to accompany me...so ROAD TRIP just the two of us.  It will be a nice weekend!!

Other summer plans have been finalized.  July 14th I am going toSeattle,  Washington to visit Courtney, and then from there I will go to Des Moines, Iowa to visit my family.  So I am literally going to one coast to the other coast this summer.  It will be enough to keep me busy and the time will go fast.

Yesterday Lauren Redfern came to town to visit me!!  She met me after camp and we hung out shopping the rest of the afternoon.  I bought a brand new camera!!  A silver Cyber-shot Sony W330!!  It has 4x optical zoom and 14.1 mega pixels.  Lauren liked it so much she bought one also!

Later that night, Jason, Lauren and myself met up with friends Steph and Matt in downtown Denver for the Rockies game!  It was fun to just hangout with everyone and talk.  The game started out really exciting but then the Astros came from behind in the 8th inning to win the game.  So that kind of sucked.  Afterwards, we stopped by Lodos to watch the end of the Lakers-Celtic game.  Another bummer that the Celtics lost that game.  Overall though, it was a fantastic night and I'm having a great time with Lauren.

Checking out my new camera, riding the light-rail train to downtown.

It started raining a little so we put bags on top of our heads to prevent afro-hair!

The Rockies!

Jason, Matt and Steph at the game.

Today is my birthday-eve.  Tomorrow I will celebrate my birthday in camp and then I believe my friend Amie has planned a girl's night out.  Dinner and a movie most likely...Sex and the City 2.  Nothing crazy.  Looking forward to it!

Have a great week everyone!!
